2011 November – Where’s Zippy?

Once again, while we are hard at work here at the ZippyDogs World Headquarters… Blue Zippy is out gallivanting around the world.  This time he is wandering the streets of Paris with his good friends Cheryl and Tracy. Though we are all terribly jealous, of course we are living vicariously through his adventures,  C’est la Vie!

In this picture he is enjoying the start of fall by sunning himself along the Seine River. The smell of fresh crêpes wafting through the air.

Behind Zippy is the Louvre! And by the way a little trivia for you… our top dog Elise’s favorite exhibit at any museum – the Cafeteria! She has a strange fascination with cafeteria food!   Musée du louvre

Zippy on the slip and slides of Indiana

.... wwwwaaaaaaaahhhhoooooo!

Zippy has been to the Ring of Kerry in the Southwest Coast of Ireland, the Great Wall of China, wine country of South Africa and the pyramids of Egypt.

But ask where he had the most fun during all his travels and he says “That’s Easy! The slip and slide in Indiana with my fabulous nieces and nephews. These kids know how to have fun”!

Woof! Does a camel say WOOF?

Jill Higgens – our forever Corn Dog – sent her ZippyDog off on an adventure with friends, Terry and Jerry. Zippy got to ride a camel, see the pyramids and so much more.

Fun Times in Elma!

Yeah, ZippyDogs printed those fine looking wine glasses you will see... if you get our newsletter.

The Zip Dogs partied down in Elma WA at the annual Mark Reed Foundation fundraiser. They were networking with guests, enjoying fine wines and even sang on stage with the band. It was all going so well until someone introduced jello-shots. Then Kristin, the mean “leprechaun police” found out that they had no valid ID and escorted us off to the Elma Jail.

Look folks, if you want the full story and very incriminating photos then you need to get signed up for the May Newsletter, The Fire Hydrant Times, our bi-monthly pee mail. We are emailing it out on Wednesday, May 5th!

Zippy Loves Sloths

This past February, Zippy traveled to Costa Rica. He spent some time on the beach, was nearly taken to sea by a wave and met some super sweet baby sloths. Zippy left his heart with Layla at the Sloth Rescue in Cahuita on the Carribean side of Costa Rica.

New Paradise Outlook Orphanage Center

Visit the web site if you want to donate.

Hi Elise,

Great to see you again too. Here is a photo of the kids receiving their very own Zippy Dog. It was taken at the New Paradise Outlook Orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania on Christmas morning.

Hope to see you again soon
Marie

The current orphanage is quite old and dilapidated (see video) but the cost of a new one is upwards of $200,000. Now if you happen to have that sort of change then let me know and we’ll fly out there and have it built. Otherwise you can help contribute to one of the smaller goals for the orphanage.

Zippy Goes to Napa Valley

Not pictured, but a favorite was Rombauer Vineyards. We all loved their oakey, buttery, chardonnay.

Yum! Charles Krug was Zippy’s favorite for great tasting, affordable wines. Revana was simply incredible. Opus was super expensive, even the wine tasting was $35 for one taster sized glass – completely overrated. Zippy poured it back in the bucket.

Zippy Goes to Texas

What a day!

We flew to the Texas state capitol to see former Gov. Ann Richards lying in state, before her funeral and burial. She was our great Governor, a real pioneer in Texas for women and other minorities. She was a visionary in her approach and one tough lady.

Zippy flew American Eagle out of Love Field, waiting in line to see her casket and then posed for pictures out front, ate at the Hula Hut on Lake Austin, saw Willie Nelson bus right as he was coming out of his home and played Farkel at the airport.

Zippy tis havin’ a time!

We suspect Zippy had a few pints in an Irish Pub while in the green country, however...

… no incriminating beer photos were submitted – huh? Considering the photographer – we suspect what happens in Irish pubs, stays in Irish pubs.

First photo is Zippy in front of the Atlantic Ocean in County Kerry on the Ring of Kerry in the Southwest Coast of Ireland.

The second photo is Zippy in a window at the Blarney Castle in Blarney County Cork where I kissed the Blarney Stone.

Zippy at Snoqualmie Falls

We are watching for sharks!

Elise, Kelli and Zippy took a quick weekend trip to Snoqualmie Falls just 20 miles east of Seattle. The weather was gorgeous and the falls were less than spectacular. Normally at this time of the year (March) with all of the mountain snow run off, the falls are huge. With no snow this winter we are looking at a hot and dry summer. To all you Washingtonians reading this … Zippy says please conserve water!! WOOF!

Zippy the SeaDog

Upset Tummy?...uh...YES!

Zippy’s first adventure on the high seas took place off the coast near Gray’s Harbor aboard the Neddie Rose, a 65′ whale-watching vessel. Dark clouds dotted the sky as the boat left Wesport in search of migrating gray whales. A storm blew in from the southwest, throwing the Neddie Rose back and forth and causing Zippy to seriously consider the sign posted in the cabin. Out of pity, he spent the remainder of the 2.5hr trip comforting his seasick companion, which was just as well as the whales did not see fit to show themselves. It was certainly an adventure that Zippy will only repeat on a calm dry sunny day when the whales are not napping.

Zippy and Griffey

Puerto Vallarta

In February 2005, Elise and Kelli (ZippyDogs owners) took a vacation to sunny Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Knowing about Zippy’s most recent trip to the Great Wall of China, courtesy of our book keeper Maureen, we took Zippy with us. The photo above shows Zippy enjoying a day on the beach with our other travel buddy Griffey. Griffey is our traveling alien and has been all over the United States and the world. Where has your Zippy been?

ZippyDogs at the Great Wall

The Twins

n December 2004, we gave our bookkeeper Maureen and her fiancé one of our brand new ZippyDogs fleece beanies. Little did we know they were on their way to China for the holidays and would take their new hats to the Great Wall of China. Maureen said they would have frozen with out their awesome ZippyDogs fleece beanies. Because of this photo, we agreed that other folks should travel with Zippy Gear and tell us about their travels. Thanks to Maureen, we now ponder the question “Where’s Zippy?”
